Who Should Be Aware - Who Should Be Responsible?

I saw this comment on the JLL bog.

"If a state siting allows a town to be held hostage shouldn't Addie Russell and Pattie Richie be aware?"

First of all Richie and Russell probably are aware but aren't going to do a damn thing about it.

Once again...shooting at the wrong target.  How about you be aware that the town is held hostage precisely because the town govt incredibly in their own words thinks the Art X siting process which is actually holding us hostage on BP's behalf is fair, balanced, and even handed and swear allegiance to it waving around a new zoning law as a supposed  defense, a law  that they can't even read or apply correctly.  That ought to frighten you a bit!

THAT my friend is why this community is being held hostage by BP and the state.

It is because we are allowing it...pure and simple.  We have NO control under this scheme.

Think on this for a minute.

BP is for all intents and purposes long gone from our community.  They are not going to develop here according to them.  Soooo... why are we still battling them and our community in the same destructive mess?

Why...because the Art X system is allowing this fair and even handed and balanced Art X  system is allowing this fiasco to continue and in effect empowering BP to still terrorize our community...even though they and their manager Chandler are nowhere to be found.  As predicted they dumped on our community as long as it was convenient and then moved on.  And our govt. and its supporters and much of the community sit around and cry in their wine and tolerate this.

Judge Agresta left this community twisting in the wind to help BP by giving them more time to sell and pad their bottom line.  It is insane! BP has essentially abandon their project, except for trying to pawn it off on someone else which is NOT the business of Art X.

Since BP has essentially shut down their interest to develop here why is the application process remaining open?  It should be shut down and be  history.

Instead we may get passed around from wind developer to wind developer with the help of the state for who knows how long desperately hoping that a State process lobbied by green proponents and corporations is going to somehow save us.

Judge Agresta's actions should be a severe wake up call as to what Art X really  is.

Several hundred letters have been written to the NYPSC begging them to save us and not allow BP to develop here...and what the hell does Agresta do representing the Art X process?

He basically says sorry can't help you and in fact I want to give BP more time so another developer can screw with your community for who knows how long!

Think about it this way.  If all these comments and letters we are suppose to write to the NYPSC are going to have this significant impact the basic tone of which is repeatedly stop BP from developing here...and this system is supposed to be so fair and attentive to our needs...then why the hell is Agresta taking action that will let BP sell and another developer develop here?

Seems those letters are not getting through very effectively.

Wake up... if you don't want BP or the State or another developer to hold us hostage then we better do something about it and take control. Because so far the system is NOT working for us but screwing us over!

It's up to us...not the State and not Russell and Richie or anybody else.
