Hirschey's Pick For the New Cape Vincent Deputy Supervisor - A Few Digital Megapixels Is Worth a Thousand Words!!!

    Oct 2009 - Back in the fall of 2009 Dick Macsherry, (red jacket) Hirschey's current  pick for CV deputy town  supervisor, having a laugh with pro wind town supervisor Tom Rienbeck, and pro wind councilman Mickey Orvis at a public event at Wood Farm. Wonder what was so funny?????  They would later run and campaign together as Democrats in 2009!  Maybe that is what they were laughing about ?????
 
In the fall of 2009 the public was invited to an event at the Cape Vincent Wood Farm.  As I remember it  then NY Gov. Paterson came to promote some type of deal from the NY Power Authority on a break on electric prices for businesses and farmers etc.  Below is a link to the WDT site about the visit.  It was public and I decided to go.  I also figured I would photograph the event for my records and the interesting people who showed up.  After all it was open to the public and there were all kinds of news media and private cameras around.  So while waiting for the Gov. to appear  I started snapping a few pictures of the event and people. These are only a few of many. I mean after all here were a lot of powerful forces in the wind battle all collecting in a perfect storm right here in CV in the heart of the wind battle.  Couldn't pass this up. It was worth a few megapixels.  File it away in a computer folder...who knows, might have some relevance someday!

Former NY Sen. Aubertine who was on the NY senate energy committee was there and probably set up this little PR stunt and photo op.  He was a key participant and also spoke.

Now let me set the stage for this event.  This is the fall of 2009, and the wind battle in CV is white  hot.  Macsherry had been on Rienbeck's wind law committee and said he was neutral and not representing WPEG even though  Hirschey as head of WPEG had asked  him to represent WPEG.  The committee had  finished its work but now Rienbeck had refused to bring the law to a vote because he knew it would be too restrictive.  It was dead in the water, and he had scammed both Clif Schneider and Macsherry who were convinced Rienbeck was going to allow a vote on a somewhat restrictive wind law, but nothing like the law we have now. You would think after all the work Macsherry had put into the draft law he would be livid instead of yucking it up with pro wind Rienbeck and crew!!!

But here in the fall 2009 Hirschey is going for his first run at CV town supervisor as a Rep. against Rienbeck, and Macsherry is flip flopping around deciding to run for councilman or not.  First he was, then he wasn't, then he was, and finally ran as a Dem.  Like I said in other posts he was cozying right up to Rienebck and crew...as you can see!!!! Yuck yuck yuck!

Now at this point unknown to a lot of people the initial AG's investigation of our documentation was under way, but the final investigation would not be announced for nearly another year.  I don't know if Macsherry knew it or not...but if he was buddies with Hirschey he probably did.  And either way I KNOW he knew of the blatant conflicts of interest among the Rienbeck govt and the horrible  impact it was having on the CV community.  Yet he campaigns and runs with pro wind Rienbeck as a Dem. anyhow!!

Boy, there is a spectacular example of faulty judgment in my opinion!  And in the opinion of some key people in WPEG at that time too.  Cozy up and run with the forces that are tearing the town apart with huge and potentially illegal lapses of ethics, and the NYAG is breathing down their necks  to boot.  I am not implicating Macsherry of anything illegal. I just can't fathom why he would make these choices at this white hot time in the wind battle with his town coming apart at the seams!

Go figure.  Hirschey, Bragdon, and Byrne are trying to unseat the forces ripping our town part, and Macsherry is running on the other side basically against them...not to mention how many votes he was potentially splitting against Republicans Bragdon and Byrne.  In fact Byrne may have lost the first time around due  to Macsherry's run for the same office and significantly delayed the Hirschey forces from getting the majority they needed...the same lack of majority that painfully dragged on for two more years as Bragdon and Hirschey were left politically impotent and pounded around by the very same Dems Macsherry ran with and the blogs are now hammering almost daily.  People attack me saying how much damage they think I have done to the Hirschey supposed "anti wind" cause.  Compared to this I don't even show up on the radar.  If somebody wanst to accuse someone of really damaging an election for the Rep. at a crucial time...maybe they should give Mr. Macsherry a call!

Oh and about the other blogs... you aren't going to see any of this little inconvenient truth over their.  Doesn't line up with the " agenda " 

Now tell me again about all that team player BS the Hirschey camp and Hirschey blogs spew out!  I guess they have real short memories, and Hirschey has appointed this "team" player as our new dep. supervisor.

Now maybe Dick Macsherry has had a huge epiphany since 2009, and I would welcome him to come on this blog and explain why. 

But his behavior in 2008 and 2009  described above in my opinion is inexcusable even today and seriously calls into question his judgment. It certainly calls into question his appointment as dep. super by Hirschey with the deafening  silence from the town board.

Now this little gathering at Wood Farm was a wake up call for me and should have been for a lot of CV people fighting the anti  wind battle, about how the state powers didn't give a damn about  what was happening in CV so they could further their renewable agenda.

Think about this.  The wind battle is white hot...not only here but across the state.  The state knows the AG's office under Cuomo is sniffing around CV with investigators and assist AGs.  They know that Aubertine is involved up to his eyeballs in this wind mess.

Yet after all that,  then prominent Sen. Aubertine also on the energy committee and probably being looked at by Cuomo's AG office who absolutely knows what is going on,(I know they knew)marches  the NY Gov. right to the Wood Farm who will get the most turbines and whose family has several CV  town officers with wind conflicts of interest.  March him right into the white hot heart of the state wind and ethics mess!  I mean how many other farms are there in NYS...in NNY they could go to?????   Is Paterson that clueless?  In fact this stunt in many ways is worse than Aubertine's no famous letter supporting the CV officials conflicts of interest and telling them to vote on wind issues anyhow.  If you were paying attention to what was going on at this little party, it was actually a more power and insidious punch at anti wind forces.

I doubt it doubt Paterson was clueless.  So I thought this might be a real interesting event to document for the record and what it meant!

To me that was a state sanctioned from the top level real hard slap in the face to any anti wind anti corruption forces, particularly right in CV.  It looked to me like a nice fu*! you all wrapped up in a nice cozy cushy polite photo op.  And some of you people think Art. X and the state is fair and even handed and is going to help us??????????  Get serious.

And where is Macsherry who supposedly has all this experience and insight etc as Hirschey now claims at this absolute critical point in the wind battle while his community is imploding in on itself with the misery brought by industrial wind and blatant ethics lapses that even catch the NYAGs office attention?  Well look at the picture!  Yucking it up and running with  the opposing forces as his community gets sucked into a black hole nightmare! Certainly look as if he is pretty friendly with Rienbeck and crew. 

Now in my opinion just this 2009 behavior alone  should have precluded him from being appointed as CV Dep. Supervisor.  And keep in mind after all this, this is the same guy the Hirschey board appointed to the power planning board chairman position, a couple years ago and to be a key player on the new 2012 wind zoning regulations.  WTF!!!

I think at a minimum Dick Macsherry should have had some serious explaining to do instead of sliding effortlessly unelected position with this record into CV's second highest and powerful position.

What in the hell is the matter with these supposed Hirschey "anti wind supporters and the town board????

Are you completely asleep and is the PR  anesthetic really that powerful????

You see in my opinion as an unelected official in a top position you were CHEATED as a CV voter of having the chance of examining this information for yourself on an official with so much local power at a critical time in this community, or being able to put Macsherry's feet to the fire as an ELECTED official running for office...you know I think they call it fair democracy or something like that.  What was that the Hirschey camp and the blogs keep telling us about open and transparent govt. and how important it is to participate?  It is  my opinion based on events of  2013  that the  Macsherry move was planned and in the works well before the 2013 elections! You the voter were essentially kept in the dark...especially if you were a seasonal voter and out of the community.

I guess Hirschey figured you don't count and he would just skip those pesky democratic formalities on Macsherry's behalf.

Now some are going to say this is an attack on Mr. Macsherry and Mr. Hirschey.  Nope... I am just laying out facts that anybody can verify by themselves with a little research.  You may not like it, but these are facts and it seems somebody needed to ask a few very serious questions.  YOU GOT CHEATED!!!

And as I said if Mr. Macsherry or Mr. Hirschey would like to come here and explain his actions...he is welcome and I will post them verbatim.  As a voter it would be wise to really put some pressure on Hirschey and start asking some tough questions about what is going on here and why you were left out!!!

   So Dick...maybe it is time to cowboy up since you are going to be controlling CV from a powerful position.  Tell us what kind of decision process  brought you to this point in 2009 to run as a Dem. with the pro wind govt ethically challenged forces  ripping our community apart. 

Then tell us how you have changed to now be selected as an unelected  top representative of a supposedly "anti wind" govt.

You and Hirschey owe this community a detailed explanation as to why both of you have suddenly turned your backs on all this history and your loyal voters who supported you and cheated them of the ability to examine some critical and essential facts about what will be controlling CV's future...and then decide for themselves if Mr. Macsherry should have this powerful position!!!!
