Production Tax Credit???

From time to time on the Cape Vincent blogs and in the news you see rumors that the PTC tax subsidies that keeps wind energy alive will go away at the end of this year.  Then the connection is maybe that BP will just go away if there is PTC.

Well...maybe not.  Cuomo has already gven millions to wind energy through NYSERDA.  He is so rabidly wind and green with an aggressive state renewable portfolio standard, that maybe he will just take up the slack in NYS  if the PTC credit fails or a community doesn't give a PILOT.

As far as PILOT taxing agreements, funny how you hear ZERO talk in CV from our govt. about PILOT agreements.  Seems the CV board could just deny a PILOT to BP, RIGHT NOW, and make BP go away.  Art. X doesn't seem to say anything about HAVING to give BP a PILOT if Art. X forces the BP project on us.

The only thing I heard is that when that time comes...Hirschey and Schneider want to get everything they can from BP.  Why are they thinking that way?  Why not just deny BP a PILOT and make them go away?

The Hirschey govt, won't oppose Art. X.  They write letters saying the Art. X process is fair, impartial, even handed and balanced even though it took away our home rule.  They don't seem interested in denying BP a PILOT.  They write our zoning to appease the Art X system. They write a zoning law that could allow some wind development.  In fact when I asked Councilman Schneider how many turbines their law might allow, he didn't seem to know.  Then they wanted to have BP put up a solar complex.

So why is it our town board seems to  be acting in ways that could make it easier for BP to place it's wind farm here, or keep them in town??????

And some people like to imply I am helping pro wind and BP...Go Figure!!!

  1. Again, Thank you Art for your support pointing out the disaster of Hirschey and Schneider. That makes Byrnes, Bragdon, Oswald and pro wind all on the same page.

    Ever grateful

  2. Good point. Maybe this is the reason the town opted to go along with ART.10- they know they have an ace in the hole- refusing a pilot, or road agreements.

lacaking of the Hirschey government and the incompetence of those
other blogs the ACE's in the hole will be ours.
