Maybe This Will Explain It

Zone to allow some huge ugly visually invasive,  monster wind turbines, and then prohibit logos on the turbine.  For what? Well  I think the picture below explains the zoning logic from our local experts and their lawyer!  how much did we pay the lawyer for this advice????

Of course this is the exact same crap the CV Dems and the CFG circus characters will try to peddle for wind turbine zoning.

My wife in her keen dry wit finally explained to me that if we are going to allow ugly wind turbines then by God at least we want them to be "beautiful ugly", and that will make all the difference!!!

  2. 1:29 Since you've decided to campaign on Art's blog, and Art is dumb enough to let you, suppose you describe the zoning changes that Kirk Grant will propose? Lets get to the meat of this, that is if you have the balls to.

  3. Art, for the love of God,,can you not see what these people are doing to you???? They are playing you. They are using you. They are using your passion and words to help them selves. The more you pump up your image the more they will use it against you. Stop trying to promote how smart you are and stick with the facts. The facts show ...if you read the wind....this thing is dead in the water,it is going no where. B.P. is just coasting along. They will never put up a turbine. They can not do it with out the tax benefit, they can not do it without a pilot. The PSC will not allow them. Stop being a pawn in this thing,

  4. After a careful examination of this series of posts I'm not as confident as you as to who is the pawn being used here. Is it possible Pundt is playing them for his own purposes?

And although Punt is out in left field much of the time, he actually has stuck to the facts by documenting the verbiage of the zoning law, and has made a couple interesting observations.

But in the final analysis I endorse the law as drafted and think it is a coherent defense to bring to the Article ten table.

  5. 4:40 I'm glad you are so sure about your claims. Too bad you didn't include your name on your post so we could evaluate your credibility to make such claims. I hope you are right...but it still doesn't change that our home rule rights have been removed and we are enabling the State to do it. And BP is not the only wind developer on the planet. And can you tell me, why in my travels in NY and around the country do I still see these trucks hauling huge turbine blades. Oh...I get it...wind is dead and maybe they are being hauled to the junk yard???

Early on in the wind battle in 2006 I was told that as long a we could find some Indiana bats an endangered species the wind issue in CV would be over, BP and Acciona would have to go away...end of story. it was nearly a guarantee from the bird experts.

Then it was the Blanding turtle. That would be the ticket and wind would go away. It would never be allowed.

Then the PSC and the DEC hammered Acciona in the SEQR process DEIS. That was it we had it in the bag it was over.

Then there was the 2009 and 2011 election. get Hirschey and his crew in office and wind was dead in CV. Hirschey and his crew were anti wind and there would no wind allowed in CV

However, Hirschey and his board actually wrote a law that allows some wind turbines. Go figure!

Last year I was told the fed PTC subsidies were dead, they wouldn't be renewed...not possible, end of story, no way no how! All we had to do was write some letters and make some calls and it was a done deal. I just chuckled. But they were renewed and in fact our town board was dumb enough to promoting a BP solar project that would need a PILOT and fed subsidies as their supporters were hammering the same subsidies.

In May the Art. X judge came to CV and said he would like to see the parties work on a BP project that might maybe comply to our law.

On the JLL blog we were told this was it, big day because the judge had demanded BP abide by CV's zoning, it was over. Not even close to what the judge said.

I could go on but I have other things to do. However, maybe you can see why I am a bit skeptical of your claims

  6. Art it was nice seeing you and your wife today. Welcome back and please keep posting the facts. Its good to know that two people that are old friends that don't exactly see eye to eye can still have a nice, civil conversation. Welcome back to all our seasonal friends.
