Now, the question occurs to me as to who is the town board aligning themselves with in the wind issue with their suck up letter to the State and NYPSC about how wonderful the Art 10 law and process is. Well they would be sucking up to Cuomo for one thing who signed the law and has done nothing but screw over CV on the wind issue.
But... do you remember Carol Murphy from ACENY, the big renewable pro wind lobby who visited CV along with Marion Trieste on BP's and VFW's behalf to spread pizza and bullshit about wind? Carol was telling us how wonderful wind was, and Wiley at the JLL blog was raking her over the coals on a regular basis.
Well guess who was a big fan of Cuomo's Art 10 just like our town board...that's right the very same
Carol Murphy!!! Maybe the town should send her a suck up letter too!

The CV Town Board!
The town board's thoughts on Art 10 in their letter:
"We did not believe Article 10 was as big a threat to municipal sovereignty as many others saw the law. Rather it was a welcome relief that a process was finally in place that proved to be fair as applied to us in Cape Vincent."
Now Carol Murphy's comments:
"By providing resources for communities to have a voice in the siting process, and a clear, timely path for decision-making, the Power NY Act recognizes the importance of involving all stakeholders in the decisions about new power plant facilities. The law will help New York lead the nation in clean energy production and green jobs."
Of course Carol doesn't mention that Cuomo had to remove some of the community's most important local powers of home rule to control their land on what would be their most critical issues to the community's futures. Apparently our town board nor Carol Murphy see that as any big deal!
Oh look...there is Ms. Murphy now clapping her little heart out
as Cuomo signs the bill that includes Art 10 that our town board
and Carol think is so wonderful and fair. Or as our town says a "welcome relief!!!"
That's funny, I don't see those greenies Urban Hirschey or Clif Schneider
or the rest of out CV town board hovering over Cuomo clapping!
They should be!
Now it also occurs to me that the town's suck up letter is a real slap in the face to some important people. Hirschey supporters like to brand me as some kind of nut case because I oppose Art 10.
Oh really...what about NYS Sen. Patty Richie, or NYS Assemblywoman Addie Russell, or the entire Jefferson County Legislature, or the Oswego County Legislature? All who were opposed to the removal of our critical home rule rights by Art 10.
Hey...no problem for our town board ... the removal of our rights was a " welcome relief!"
It is interesting what is surfacing now that there isn't a pressing local election coming up in CV and the wind issue is winding down. John Byrne has stated he is not opposed to industrial wind, and Hirschey said that long before him. Makes you wonder which side these people are on.
Maybe if Byrne gets to Albany he can go cozy up with Murphy and they can figure out which NYS communities they can screw over with wind energy and Art 10! After all neither one of them are opposed to wind energy. Maybe the next time around in CV Byrne can accompany Murphy here to spread some bullshit and pizza. Then maybe John can enlighten us as to why he is NOT opposed to the wind energy scam.
And people think I am helping pro wind...Go Figure!!!!
Good grief. Carol Murphy left that position almost two years ago. Get with the program.
