NY Sen. Patty Richie Said WHAT?????

NY Sen. Patty Richie said the following according to a report in the WDT concerning the Cuomo’s plan for an energy highway to bring power from Quebec.
“The senators — led by state Sen. George Maziarz, a Western New York Republican, and joined by state Sen. Patricia A. Ritchie, R-Heuvelton — say upstate jobs are at stake if a $2 billion transmission line proposal is approved because it would squeeze out energy producers in the state, like nuclear power plants, facilities that burn wood to create electricity and wind turbine farms.”

WHAT!

Wait a minute…I distinctly remember the CV Republicans and Cape Vincent blogs demanding we vote for Richie against Aubertine as being friendly to the CV, NNY  anti wind cause!  She ran against wind conflicted former NY Sen. Aubertine for God sakes, who was thrown out over his wind ethics mess.  She also voted to approve  Aubertine for his new Cuomo appointed state job at NY Ag and Markets.  Note the video below after she voted to approve Aubertine to his new position.  Cuomo calls her a pro and winks at her.  By his standards that would mean she has learned how to play the Albany game and screw over people just like Cuomo did to Cape Vincent when he appointed Aubertine.

Hhhmmm…I guess the wind politics is not so clear cut as the rabid  CV Republicans would like you to believe.  You know like it is all the Liberals fault.  Go back in this blog archive and reference the post I did on who was to blame for the wind mess in NY and nationally.  If you make this a partisan issue you are deluded, and don’t end up with the proper perspective to fight the wind  issue.
Then there is this quote by Amaral:

“Typically, the debate over dependency on foreign oil occurs on the national stage. But in New York, the discussion became charged when Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced plans in January for the “energy highway,” which would use private capital to improve the state’s transmission grid. “

Time to wake up Mr. Amaral and get educated about energy.  Wind turbines and other sources of electrical energy have virtually nothing to do with foreign oil.  Only about 1% of our electric energy comes from using oil as a fuel. If you want to address the issue of foreign oil dependency, that occurs mostly in the transportation sector…NOT the electrical sector. It’s apples and oranges, and this is a propaganda tool used by the wind industry that wind was going to take us off foreign oil.  It’s not something you should find in a newspaper which should be informed.  Seems you would expect reporters to get their facts straight.  Maybe he got confused with the words “energy highway” like Cuomo was going to drive the electricity to NYC in big trucks using lots of diesel oil !!!

Now wonder we have trouble fighting the anti wind battle when this is the information the public gets about!
