Please watch it and carefully consider what it says. Watch it more than once if you have to,to understand the implications. Mr. Linzey might as well be talkng directly about CV and our issues.
Remember the movie "Windfall"? That was an important movie. But considering where we are now in Cape Vincent with the threat of BP taking away our community home rule rights backed by Article X...this video is far more important and relevent. It clearly explains the deeper reality of what is happening to us and why, beyond setbacks and zoning, and unfortunately we are not having this critical conversation as a community.
I am asking all memebers of our town govt to watch this as well as members of other local town govts now under the Article X wind threat. I am asking you as a reader on this blog to contact your town officials to have them view this video.
We should be working as a town and a region with CELDF and their Democracy Schools, and legislative ideas.
This video in my opinion also points up why we have gone the wrong direction in trying to fight Article X with appeasement zoning. We are not having the right conversation, and we are not on the right track if we truly want to fight Article X and have any chance of protecting our community and home rule rights so important to our community's and region's future.
If you support these ideas then you need to contact our local and county legislators and planning boards and suggest that we carefully consider this direction to defend against Article X.
Then if these ideas give you an epiphany as they did me several years ago, and you REALLY want to get into this deeper and understand what is happening to you and I and our CV community...then click on the video in the upper right by Richard Grossman next to the main video by Linzey. The legislators behind Article X, and BP DO NOT want you to see this stuff or consider it.

Art,thanks for posting this video. It should be viewed by every citizen and elected local municipal official of New York, who are currently under the totalitarian thumb of Article X. There is no mystery or confusion that the Article X legislation is driven by corporate interest,particularly renewable energy developers and their lobbysts.
ReplyDeleteCape Vincent is poised to be over-run by BP at the hands of an Albany based commission that is prepared to dissect and disempower our Home Rule enacted Comprehensive PLan ,and Zoning Law,unless we as citizens demand our government take action and denounce this theft of our right to determine our own destiny. Our situation in New York is even more dramatic since we have already been legally granted Home Rule rights,but the State is attempting to ,or actually already has ,stolen them from us.
