New CV Wind Opposition Blog

        Welcome New Readers,                                                                                3/5/2012

Thank you for coming to my new blog. We address the controversial issue of placing industrial scale wind turbines in the beautiful town of Cape Vincent, NY and famous 1000 Islands region  at the confluence of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.

I am very new to the experience of owning and administering a blog, so I ask for your patience. However, I am not new to the industrial wind energy controversy and have very strong beliefs and experience, and research  that lead me to oppose this form of energy production.  It is my strong belief that the  town of Cape Vincent officials now considering a revision of our comprehensive land use plan and zoning should pass legislation to  prohibit industrial wind development due to the well established and credible facts that wind development’s invasive and overwhelming impacts are unacceptable and not mitigatable.   It is most important to recognize that these  unmitigatable impacts violate  Cape Vincent’s traditional land use goals as outlined in both our comprehensive land use plan and zoning laws.  These documents have consistent and historically established strong themes of scenic resource protection, and preservation of the quiet, rural, small town atmosphere so essential and precious, not only to Cape Vincent, but to our region as well. These documents should not be revised in a manner that would accommodate industrial wind energy or any other similarly invasive development proposals.

Right now this blog is a work in progress, but hopefully will be up and running with posts and comments soon.  Please stay tuned. Till then please enjoy the photos, and use them as a serious consideration of what we might be giving away.  It is unacceptable.  All photos posted on this blog are by the administrator Art Pundt (unless otherwise credited) and are copyright protected.

Best wishes,

  6. Thanks John. I hope you will follow it,and if you would be so kind as to please spread the word. I look forward to your comments or even a post as well if you desire. Although we have had our differences in approach, I respect your thoughts and they are always well measured, and you stand by your ideas with your name. That is important, although any anon is welcome. As I said it is a work in progress and the look may change as I proceed. It is an experiemnt, and I may also find it is too much to take on since I have already been in this battle intensely since early 2006. I would also like to expose people to the beauty of CV through photography so we can clearly measure what is at stake, and what we might be giving away.
