So I'm sitting here having a nice evening enjoying the X-mas tree and new snow outside in the moonlight. I look on my blog and some anonymous commenter says they have heard a rumor that Hirschey is going to appoint Dick Macsherry as deputy town supervisor.
Thanks for ruining my evening. Would you like to put your name on the rumor and bring credible evidence to verify it????
Good God help us all.
Would this be the same Macsherry that campaigned for office with the Rienbeck crew in 2009?
Or sided with Rienbeck when Rienbeck tried to arrest John Byrne for having a camera in a town board meeting.
Would this be the same Macsherry that was up to his eyeballs in the solar zoning fiasco along with Bob Brown our supposed zoning genius last summer where they couldn't even read the law they wrote. And now the solar mess they created in our new zoning has to be corrected?
Would this be the same Macsherry picked by Hirschey in WPEG that was on the 2008/09 wind law committee to represent WPEG then bolted and said he wasn't representing WPEG.
Would this be the same Macsherry that after the 2009 wind law committee had finished a wind law draft, he then sat in a private meeting in town offices with Rienbeck and the wind developers BP and Acciona and let them go line for line through that draft and post their objections? And that would be BEFORE the public had the opportunity to see it or commented on it in a legal official public hearing? Geee ...you know.... as long as cuurent buzz is about secret meetings!!!!! And he admitted it.
Is this the same Dick Macsherry the rumor is about? Good God!
I checked NY town law and the town board can approve a deputy supervisor position, but then the supervisor can appoint just about anyone to it. This position is in addition to the 5 town board members and has no vote.
Now it makes sense why Macsherry stepped down from the planning board. He and Hirschey have bigger fish to fry!
So what happens to Brooks Bragdon who as far as I know is now the deputy supervisor? Do they strip him of that office? Geeee more reasons to be loyal to Hirschey!
Seems some members of the town board ought to vote to kill the deputy super. position so their is no office for Hirschey to appoint anyone too if his judgment says Macsherry is a good choice for a deputy supervisor.
Not sure I like some official not duly elected by the CV citizens to have that much power, since he can step into the office in Hirschey's absence or if he steps down. Especially Dick Mac with his past record.
Remember what I said. This is a guy who had such a lack of judgment, he admitted to me and I believe he said it publicly that he would have negotiated the town away to wind development.
And then he has the severe lapse in judgment to throw WPEG under the bus and cozy right up to the Rienbeck crew and run for office shoulder to shoulder with them and their wind conflicted buddies!!!
And this guy with this gross lack of judgment is who we might have as deputy supervisor, or maybe being groomed for supervisor? YIKES!!!! This guy has a trend of severe lapses in judgments.
That is real disturbing!!! A staunch Urban loyalist once told me that if Dick Mac. said it was raining outside...then you better go and check for yourself to make sure.
Just a rumor, but let's see where it goes. Anyone else know anything about this?

I heard Al Wood has heard about this. There is a statement made by Bragdon on the video that implies his term as deputy is not forever. Maybe he's been told. I f it is true and Hirschey sees an uproar he'll reconsider this appalling decision.

Just like when we voted out D. Aubertine and Cuomo put him right back in NY govt. with Patty Richie’s approval after she defeated Aubertine.
Urban Hirshey’s defacto brain is as follows in my opinion who are running the show. And it got to be a real circus act with last summer’s solar fiasco if you want to see how run amuck this brain can get!

Then add Hirschey’s boating buddy Ed Hludzenski.
The rest are just there to vote and make sure the Hirschey agenda of sucking up to the State is followed.
So as you can see the town is being run from the insider cabal of the Art. X Advisory Committee.
Michelle Oswald was sacrificed in my opinion because she is a woman, and may not have goose stepped with the others as they thought she should have.
John Byrne is left twisting in the wind since he has no real power unless Urban gives him a little task. Maybe someday he will wake up to what is going on. It appears that they will strip Brooks Bragdon of the Dep. Super job to clear the path for Macsherry if the rumor is true, so apparently he is not on the true inside track either.
Now here are a couple interesting points. Several years ago I was on the phone with Wiley of JLL. Apparently at that time Wiley was not all that fond of Macsherry. He is the one who said to me that if Macsherry said it was raining outside…he would damn sure go out and check it for himself. Now Wiley as the PR arm of the Hirschey govt. would not dare step out of line. Truth be known…there are other important WPEG players that aren’t or weren’t all that sweet on Mr. Macsherry and how he left WPEG twisting in the wind on the 2008/09 wind law committee, and then cozied up to Rienbeck and crew.
Here is the other irony.
Macsherry when he was running and was cozy with Rienbeck very inappropriately and in extremely bad taste and judgment, brought Hirschey’s health problems into the campaign as a campaign tactic…probably for Rienbeck who was running against Urban for Super. Even Urban and his wife were upset about that. I guess he forgot about that.
I don’t care if the law provides for this Dep. Super. or not. That doesn’t make it right, and I think it is too much unelected power to close to the top of CV govt. and a step away from the Super’s job. And if the rumor is true…why Dick Mac. And why now…think about that for minute.
Dick is supposed to be the big negotiator, so what is he being set up for?
If this is true I think some people who see this as a fiasco should start stepping up. I think as the new board takes over P. Aubertine, Bragdon and Byrne ought to really call this into question and vote to eliminate the Dep Super. Position, at least until an agreement can be reached on someone else.
Macsherry is a disaster waiting to happen. Just go back on PB and ZBA video and watch how he and Brown created the solar zoning fiasco. And none of them who wrote the law even the supervisor could read it or apply it!
Boy, this gives me real confidence in CV govt.

ReplyDeleteGo back on Steve Weed video and watch our zoning geniuses who took months to write a zoning new law try to approve an illegal solar project, and screw up so badly that the town supervisor in a panic has to actually take down the solar project he already illegally put up under the same new law he help draft and approve and couldn't read.
They screw up so badly that they have to call in the all the CV ZBA, the planning board, the town board and the town attorney, to try to pull their asses out of the fire. So bad the WDT reports on it. So bad they even ADMIT how badly they screwed up right on video to the point some say their actions won't even hold up in court. Screw up so bad they are in a panic they are going to get their asses sued AND as a result throw an innocent woman under the zoning bus to cover their asses. and all this they created with astounding brilliance in an election year! Great timing boys!!!
Then they have to admit they rushed the zoning law to appease Art X and as a result "over looked" some things...geee do ya think!!! AND the first real test of our brand new zoning law and it and our zoning wizards and the supervisor do a face plant. Not to mention for months we are told how wonderful it is to have these zoning wizards and the great work they are doing, and this is the zoning law and the geniuses who are suppose to protect us from BP and Art. X?????
As we say out West...on this zoning fiasco these guys could not pour piss out of a boot even if the instructions were written on the bottom of the boot!
Now THAT is a museum quality melt down. And in part that melt down may have cost Hirschey and crew the loss of wide support in the election.

It is a terrible thing to have a loved one go missing especially this time of year.
