When you examine the Cape Vincent water dist.2
debacle it seems that the CV Town Supervisor Mr. Hirschey is giving
former NYS Sen. Aubertine a lot of latitude on this issue, even though the NY
Dept of Health has made it pretty clear the town should take control of the
issue once and for all.
On the surface it looks like the big state connected
official is pushing around the small town supervisor. Maybe Hirschey is just a real nice guy trying
to work it all out.
Of course there is a lot to consider here. Let's see.
Darrel Aubertine
currently works in the NYS Comptroller's Office.
His boss is Tom Dinapoli the NYS Comptroller.
Aubertine’s son Paul is a new Cape Vincent councilman. A
person who Hirschey out of the blue was
willing to appoint to an empty town board seat at one time not long ago before
Aubertine was actually elected to that seat.
Dinapoli also manages the NYS Common Retirement Fund (CRF)
including Retirement Fund’s “Green Initiative” making investments for the state
retirement fund in “green” companies.
In 2008 Dinaploi’s ‘Green Initiative” invested in Mr.
Hirscheys family business … Climax Paper.
Below is a link to a report in this paper where you can see
Dinapoli speaking at Climax Paper announcing this investment. Did I mention that Dinapoli is now Aubertine’s
boss????
Who else was there?
Well of course Darrel Aubertine when he was a NYS senator.
I guess it is just a lot of funny coincidences eh! Wonder how many back channels are buzzing on
this CV water issue????
Below is a quote from a 2011 report on the Dinaploi’s “Green Initiative”
The CRF also has investments in clean technology through the In-State
Private Equity Program. This program
makes investments in promising businesses in New York State— promoting economic
growth while garnering attractive risk-adjusted returns. Through the In-State Program, investments
have been made with the following green businesses:
Invenergy – a wind energy
developer for a wind farm in western New York.
Climax Paper – a manufacturer of paperboard products from recycled
fiber.
Innovation Biofuels – a biodiesel manufacturer.
Zeropoint Cleantech – a
manufacturer of equipment to create syngas and liquid fuels from wood and crop
residues. Crystal IS – a manufacturer of devices to reduce energy use in
lighting and data storage applications.
You know…it makes me wonder if any of this has anything to
do with Mr. Hirschey and his town board’s reluctance to not breath a word of
opposition to the State’s Art. 10 process he and the town were engaged in with wind developer BP???? Instead they said it was fair, even handed,
and a welcomed relief…even though the Jefferson County Legislators had a
completely opposite reaction and unanimously
passed a resolution of opposition to Art 10.
Follow the money trail. Some things never change, people are reluctant to believe they are being duped. Its what politicians and bureaucrats depend on.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion when you carefully look at and research the Cape Vincent water issue, and the CV former BP and Acciona wind issue, things seem awfully cozy between certain players in CV and the State!
ReplyDeleteSome names keep popping up in funny places.
Maybe the CV water issue is the same.
The WDT and some others liked to frame the entire CV wind controversy as only the locals against the seasonals. Simple lines drawn in the sand.
Something simple the average mind can grasp onto.
But I don't think it is that simple!
