There is a person in the comment section of the WDT article
about Aubertine and questionable campaign donations who calls themselves Sarah Doe.
She I think has also commented on my blog as well.
Here is a comment that was left on my blog…if it is not
Sarah it follows the same theme.
“Very interesting Mr. Pundt.
But frankly, we have all that information and you do not seem to be addressing an existing problem right under your nose that you could have an impact on
that would help the issue and the community.
And, it fits right into your theme.
At a public hearing May 1 held to fix fees for Water District 2 and 3, Paul Aubertine
initiated a discussion opposing a resolution to fix a fee schedule. He then took
it one step further by voting against the fee schedule that set rates for his
mother and fathers monthly bill. Those rate only impacted three families in legal agreement
with the town. So, it can't really be said that he voted on an issue that was for the general
welfare of all citizens. It was 33% directly favorable to his family.
You can see that video on Steve Weed productions who cover CV meetings.
As you recommended to times readers, I read what you have to say. Yes, your history does
shed light on the character but as others have already pointed out you seem to have missed
what might be very timely and present conflict of interest with Paul Aubertine's discussion and vote".

“She” indicates that I have missed the point and real issue
in regards to Paul Aubertine and the CV
water system issues…as I remember she believes Paul Aubertine of the CV Town
Board has acted unethically since he would have a conflict of interest in the
CV H2O Dist. 2 fiasco, since his family (particularly his father the former NYS
senator) is at the center of the issue.
OK fair enough…so lets examine this issue for "Sarah"…keeping
in mind Sarah, I am on your side on any verified conflict issue, not just now
but, going back to 2006! But there are certain realities you must face.
The main reality is (and you won’t like this) but it doesn’t
matter!!! Stick with me and I will show
you why.
First of all, the political reality is that the rest of the
Hirschey board has a super majority and can simply out vote Paul Aubertine. Essentially under these circumstances, at
least in the lingering political battle
left over from the wind issue, he is basically irrelevant. I mean
no disrespect to young Aubertine, but that is reality…why do you think he was
among a group who wanted to sue over seasonal votes?
Unless of course you think he, or daddy through him is
having some inordinate influence over the rest of the board pushing them a certain
direction.
Then your problem is not Aubertine, but the current town board
if they defer to Aubertine or appease him or his family. If that is the case then you should put direct
pressure on your Hirschey board.
After all this board ran on ethics, and if they are sitting there tolerating Aubertine, if he has a conflict, with no discussion or objection then what’s up with them? If it is an issue... then they should make it an issue

As far as I can tell the Hirschey part of the board seems to
be publicly tolerating and enabling Aubertine’s discussions and votes
on the water issue. Please correct me if
I am wrong. The operative word is “publicly”…not
what they are saying secretly or anonymously…that don’t count!!!
The other reality about any potential Aubertine conflict of interest
is, who is going to give a damn? I mean
give a damn enough to actually do anything
about it.
Perhaps the NYAG’s office or their public integrity unit, or
the Jefferson County DA? That would be
a laugh…we have already been down that road on a much bigger and more serious
and insidious issue…WIND…and in the end despite even an AG investigation of
former CV officials...they didn’t do a damn thing.
Keep in mind who Aubertine’s father is and
who he is connected to. He probably even
has Hirschey scared. And I doubt the Dept. of Health cares one way or the other
if Paul Aubertine has a conflict.
Now if you can light a fire under the butts of those
agencies, I would sure like to hear about it.
Please let me know. And even if
they vacated Aubertine’s vote, it still doesn’t matter, he is only one vote
So what might be a potential conflict of interest on a very
contentious issue, in reality it isn’t going to matter one damn in the end.
You say I could have an impact on the potential Aubertine
conflict issue. So tell me…what impact
are you expecting from making an issue of Aubertine conflict???? And I could
scream loud an put this all over my blog but the reality is, that Paul really
isn’t the problem, and is basically irrelevant, and no one is going to do a damn
thing about it anyhow.
So if Aubertine does actually have a conflict, it appears he
has free license to violate the ethics codes and laws. Maybe( in my opinion) like his father did when
he wrote the letter in the post above.
There are no civil law cops to pull young Aubetine over and
give him a ticket and send him to jail. He would have to be carrying out a
blatant fraud or embezzling big funds or something like that before anyone
would pay attention (and be clear I am not suggesting he is doing that. )
The system you learned in school that is supposed to
represent and protect you…well in reality it is mostly a fair tale.
I am really sorry “Sarah” but that is the sad fact.
I think the real issue is when is the rest of the Hirschey board
going to bring the hammer down on this nonsense???? AND you getting over being anonymous…that
doesn’t solve anything. If you believe
people listen to me and I can have an impact (I doubt it) that is because they at least know who they
are listening too and what I stand for, even if they disagree or hate me.
Unfortunately,I have said many times…BP walked away and
left a trashed community behind for us to try and clean up. Not likely to happen for long long time. This latest controversy is nothing more than
a smoldering social / political spot fire left
over from the wind developers dropping a nuke on our community!
